President Bola Tinubu affirms his administration’s commitment to channeling resources into critical sectors to benefit Nigerians, vowing to confront opponents of the old subsidy system with good governance.
During a meeting with the Forum of State chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House in Abuja, President Tinubu assures Nigerians of ongoing efforts to enhance their welfare and urges grassroots leaders to promote National Identification Number (NIN) registration for effective planning and government interventions.
Tinubu stresses that revitalizing the economy is of utmost importance and urges party members to proactively deliver good governance and exemplary civic engagement to the people without waiting for formal appointments.
He states, “As we combat corruption, smugglers, and former subsidy beneficiaries, we anticipate resistance. Those who manipulated records and lost out with the removal of petroleum subsidy will resist.”
“But we will protect our citizens,” he adds, emphasizing the need to safeguard public funds. Tinubu urges state chairmen to rally citizens, irrespective of party affiliations, for NIN registration, highlighting its importance for targeted social security interventions.
Tinubu reveals the establishment of a governor-led committee, chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima, focused on uplifting the populace. Despite challenges posed by destabilizing elements, Tinubu remains resolute, expressing confidence in Nigerians’ ability to overcome.
