President Bola Tinubu has reassured Chinese business executives of the safety and support for their investments in Nigeria. During a meeting with a delegation led by Mr. Dai Hegen, Chairman of the China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), at the State House on Friday, Tinubu emphasized his administration’s commitment to fostering a conducive business environment.
Tinubu highlighted the alignment of CRCC’s operations with Nigeria’s economic reform objectives, stating, “Your operation is consistent with our objectives. We are reforming the economy and taking crucial actions to ensure accelerated growth.” He praised CRCC and its subsidiary, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), for their contributions to infrastructure development, particularly in rail construction.
The President expressed his administration’s readiness to expand business collaborations and upgrade critical infrastructure, citing the importance of connecting Nigeria’s hinterlands with coastal seaports. “We will do everything required to ensure that the rail link between the Ibadan end of the Lagos-Ibadan railway and the Federal Capital Territory is completed,” he said.
Tinubu also encouraged CRCC to explore partnerships in solid minerals development, describing it as the next frontier for mutually beneficial growth. He assured the delegation, “We need each other. The sustainable path to success is a two-way street. We assure you that your investment is safe in our country.”
