Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, emphasized his administration’s commitment to the welfare of judicial officers by presenting an additional 11 vehicles to judges in the state on Tuesday. The vehicles were handed over to the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Josiah Mejabi, at the Muhammad Buhari Square in Lokoja, with a promise to deliver the remaining batch soon.
Represented by the Head of Service, Elijah Evimemi, Governor Ododo highlighted that this gesture reflects his administration’s priority on the welfare of judicial officers to ensure optimal service and outcomes. He stated, “The provision of these 11 vehicles fulfills the promise I made to the judiciary during the swearing-in of newly-appointed judges in July, where we initially distributed 14 vehicles. Today, we are adding 11 more vehicles for our dedicated judicial officers, with plans to deliver more so that all judges and magistrates in the state are adequately equipped.”
Governor Ododo encouraged the judicial officers to uphold justice for all who seek their services in the courtrooms.
In response, Chief Judge Mejabi expressed gratitude to the governor for fulfilling his promise, noting that the vehicles would significantly aid the judges in carrying out their duties, particularly in matters that promote unity and peaceful coexistence among the residents of Kogi State.
