RIPPLES NIGERIA
Self-styled Prime Minister of the Biafran Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE), Simon Ekpa, has branded reverred Yoruba monarch, the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi as a fraud who was planted on the throne by descendants of Usman Dan Fodio who was a Fulani scholar, Islamic religious teacher and revolutionary who founded the Sokoto Caliphate.
Ekpa who made the assertions on a post on his X handle on Friday, was responding to a series of tweets by one Omotayo Williams with the handle @KadunaResident, who had accused the Biafran agitator of being a double agent who was not working for the interest of the Igbos but for his own selfish interest.
In another tweet, Williams said Ekpa was not a true disciple of the incarcerated leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, because he, (Ekpa), was a mercenary strategically planted to destabilize and create chaos in the south east.
“Simon Ekpa is not working in the best interest of Ndigbo. He is a mercenary, strategically planted to destabilize the Southeast for the benefit of certain powerful Igbo politicians,” Williams wrote.
In another tweet, Williams said:
‘Case Study: Simon Ekpa is not a disciple of Nnamdi Kanu; they come from different ideological backgrounds.
“Nnamdi Kanu seeks the total freedom of Biafra, he wants the best which is why the government can’t tolerate him.
“In contrast, Simon Ekpa is a free agent, manipulated by politicians to create chaos in the Southeast. The reason he hasn’t been apprehended is that he is being sponsored by those same politician’s.
“My sermon will always be consistent.
1. @simon_ekpa is a fraud used by politicians to cause sorrow in Biafra Land.
2. The political influence of Nnamdi Kanu should be channeled toward democracy and electing leaders who will represent Igbo interests.
3. No election in Biafra land is a tool used by @simon_ekpa to ensure that politicians like Soludo, Kalu and Uzodinma, who do not have Igbos interest keep getting political power.”
