'I'm happier in Africa' — Health expert protests mistreatment at German airport

Ahmed Ogwell, an African health expert, has shared on Twitter how he was mistreated at Frankfurt Airport, Germany, by immigration officials who assumed he was an illegal migrant.

Ogwell, the director of Africa Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said he was in Germany to attend the World Health Summit.

He said immigration officials at Frankfurt Airport had treated him poorly over presumptions that he wanted to keep staying in the country.

“I’ve been mistreated at @Airport_FRA by immigration personnel who imagine I want to stay back illegally,” he wrote on Saturday.
