A doctor at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, has lamented the exodus of junior doctors from his department.
According to the tweep, who identifies as Kunle, junior medical doctors in his department shrank to three from 13 in one year.
The doctor said that the remaining three doctors, no matter how dedicated they might be, could not perform optimally.
He stated that the hospital was grossly understaffed and the remaining doctors, though overworked, continued to be paid the same amount of money to do the workload of 13.
He added that this made it harder to prevent medical errors. He urged the administration to do better, as the lives of healthcare workers are also important.
