Boffins have created a “miracle vaccine” capable of beating any virus a human could contract.
Based at the University of California, the team led by virologist Rong Hai has found that a new RNA-based vaccine could even work in babies and those classed as immunocompromised.
It is hoped that the new vaccine could be used firstly when it comes to flu season – in a bid to stop scientists guessing what the new dominant strain would be every year. And it would also work with the ever-changing, never-ending Coronavirus still spreading the globe.
Having tested the new jab on mice, Rong Hai said: “It is broadly applicable to any number of viruses, broadly effective against any variant of a virus, and safe for a broad spectrum of people. This could be the universal vaccine that we have been looking for.”
