More than a month after the last jackpot prize was won, a Powerball player managed to match the winning numbers for the $206.9 million jackpot on Wednesday.
The jackpot, which marked the fifth Powerball lottery win of the year, saw a single winning ticket sold in Pennsylvania.
The winning numbers drawn on Wednesday, Aug. 3, were 9, 21, 56, 57, 66, with a red Powerball of 11. The Power Play was 2X.
The winner from last night’s drawing will have the option of claiming the estimated $206.9 million prize through an annuity, which would be distributed over 29 years, or a lump sum payment of $122.3 million, before taxes.
Although one player was able to win the $206.9 million jackpot, there were 589,245 tickets won at all prize levels from the Wednesday night drawing. No other players became instant millionaires.
Players who would have hit the Match 5, would have won a $1 million prize. If a player would have hit the Match 5 with the Power Play purchase, they would have won $2 million.
There were 13 players who matched four numbers plus the red Powerball, putting their winnings for the night at $50,000 each.
