A 74-year-old woman who was declared dead at her care home was later found to be alive and kicking when she arrived at the funeral parlour.

Constance Glanz was pronounced dead at 9.44 am on June 3, but things took a turn at Butherus-Maser and Love Funeral Home in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she was taken.

A worker at the funeral home nearly jumped out of their skin when they noticed Constance was actually breathing.

The quick-thinking staff didn’t waste a second, immediately performing CPR and dialling up emergency services and the police to report the “unusual” incident

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Ms Glanz was whisked away to hospital. She was later declared dead for a second time.

Chief Deputy Ben Houchin, with 31 years on the job, said he’d never seen anything quite like it: “It’s a very unusual case. Been doing this 31 years and nothing like this has ever gotten to this point before.”
