A bloke who was born with only two fingers and a thumb on his right hand showed he’s not let his disability hold him back, having adapted to it throughout his childhood.

He took to Reddit’s r/MildlyInteresting forum to share a photo of his unique hand, writing: “I was born with only 2 fingers and a thumb on my right hand.” He clarified the missing digits are the index and little fingers. A curious Redditor asked if he’d ever had an X-ray to see if he has “all of the metacarpals” (the bones in the middle part of the hand).

“X-ray as a child showed the bones didn’t exist,” he responded. “I just wasn’t meant to have fingers. I guess that’s what my mother gets for sleeping with one of the lizard overlords.”

Scores of other users were fascinated, with one asking “how restricted” he feels in his daily life. “Not at all,” the man confirmed. “Self taught touch type, can handle everything that others handle without any issues. Have a pretty strong grip with them.”

And when talking about his teenage hobbies, he added: “Used to be a PC gamer, using the mouse with my right hand was fine. Only needed two fingers. Console controllers had no issues, and I taught myself to use them effectively.”

Another Reddit user queried: “Do you shake hands with that hand? Do you give a heads up in advance? Think there may be some pretty humorous reactions if somebody is unaware of it before grabbing it.” But dodging the question artfully, the man humorously retorted: “It’s pretty funny when wearing winter gloves and riding a bike. The fingers which have nothing in them flap around in the wind.”
