Woman, 59, sexually assaulted man on bus ‘after mistaking him for her boyfriend’

A WOMAN says she sexually assaulted a man on a bus after mistaking him for her boyfriend.

Samantha Eyers, 59, got on with another man but when he sat down, she continued on to the back row.

She then sat directly next to a second male and began a conversation, including showing him things on her phone.

Stuart Ellacott, prosecuting, said: “After a short period, Ms Eyers reached her hand under the victim’s arm and touched the man’s groin area.

“He immediately reacted and called for the bus driver to stop the vehicle so he could leave.

“While the man was attempting to leave the bus, the defendant went and re-joined the man she had entered the bus with.”

Questioned by cops after the incident in Bournemouth last November, Eyers admitted to touching the man but said she was very drunk at the time.

Robert Grey, defending, told the town’s crown court the offence was “completely out of character”.

He added that Eyers “knows she is an alcoholic but she is trying to get off it” and intends to start AA meetings.

Eyers admitted sexual assault and was fined £300.
