A HEARTBROKEN Mariah Carey has announced that her mom and sister have died on the same day.

The Fantasy singer issued a statement on Monday revealing she lost both of her relatives in “a tragic turn of events.”

“My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend,” Mariah, 55, said in a statement to People.

“Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.

“I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed,” Mariah added.

“I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time,” she concluded.

The cause of death of her 87-year-old mom, Patricia, and 63-year-old sister, Alison, have yet to be released.

Along with Mariah and Alison, Patricia was a mom to son Morgan.

She was an opera singer trained at Juilliard in New York City.

Patricia also worked as a vocal coach and was previously married to Alfred Roy Carey.

The two got divorced when Mariah was only 3 years old.

The pop music sensation opened up about the complicated relationship between her and her mom in her 2020 book, The Meaning of Mariah Carey.

She wrote, “Like many aspects of my life, my journey with my mother has been full of contradictions and competing realities.

“It’s never been only black-and-white — it’s been a whole rainbow of emotions.”

“Our relationship is a prickly rope of pride, pain, shame, gratitude, jealousy, admiration, and disappointment,” she shared.

“A complicated love tethers my heart to my mother’s.”

On August 26, 2024, Mariah Carey revealed to People that her mom Patricia and sister Alison died on the same day.

“My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend,” she started.

“Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.

“I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed.”

“I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time,” she concluded.

Mariah discussed that she almost drowned while at the beach when she was seven years old and how her mom didn’t pay attention despite Mariah’s “hysterical crying.”

Patricia also went through some family trauma as she was disowned by her mom for marrying a Black man.

“That was an abomination. It was the ultimate humiliation. My mother’s marriage to my father was beyond betrayal to her mother; it was a high crime against her white heritage, punishable by ex-communication,” Mariah wrote.

“Needless to say, my grandmother completely disowned her daughter.”

The star dedicated part of her memoir to her mom, writing, “And to Pat, my mother, who, through it all, I do believe actually did the best she could.

“I will love you the best I can, always.”
