The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) says it has not taken a final decision on the candidate the group will support for the 2023 presidential election.
The Secretary of the group, Usman Ngerzema disclosed that the congress would meet and determine which of the candidates will get the block votes of its members or if they will remain neutral this time around.
According to Ngerzema, MACBAN consists of members with diverse political affiliations and the decision on which candidate or party to support has not been finalized.
He said they would have to consider the manifesto, capabilities and other things before reaching a final decision.
Naija News understands the MACBAN Secretary made the position of the group known in response to inquiries from the Punch on which party or candidate would get their support.
He said unlike when there was a unanimous decision to support President Muhammadu Buhari, the congress is yet to decide on the 2023 polls.
In his words, “You know MACBAN is a combination of all interest groups. We have the APC, PDP, NNPP, ANPP and others. We have them in MACBAN. This decision has not been taken. The last time, it was a unanimous decision of the congress, we endorsed Buhari then.
“But now, until the chips are down, then we can decide whether to take a position or we can remain neutral. So, this is the decision of the congress, not an individual decision or the decision of a member of the association. It has to be a majority decision of the congress before we decide on who to vote for…
