Honda recalls 2.6 million cars over bad fuel pumps

Honda is recalling over 2 million of its vehicles after finding a fuel pump problem in several models.

The recall will affect 2.6 million of Honda‘s cars, including the 2019 models of the Accord, Odyssey, Pilot and Ridgeline. Several 2019 and 2020 Acura models are also being recalled for the same issue.

The action was sparked by a recently discovered fuel pump issue in the recalled vehicles. The problem causes pumps to stop transferring fuel, which could cause cars to suddenly lose power.

Honda says no injuries have been recorded as a result of the fuel pump issue.

Since not enough parts are available to fix every affected car, the repairs will take place in waves. Honda says it will begin informing customers in February if their vehicles are affected by the recall. Customers then can take their cars to local Honda or Acura dealerships for repairs, which will be free…
