The freed chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo State chapter, Tony Aziegbemi, who regained his freedom after spending eleven days in the kidnappers’ said he is happy to be back home.
Aziegbemi, a former representative of Esan Northeast/Esan Southeast constituency in the House of Representatives, said on the phone: “I am back home with my family. I am fine. I am just trying to rest. I am happy.”
Edo chairman of PDP, who is also an economist, was, however, silent on whether or not the demanded N500 million ransom was paid to the kidnappers before he regained his freedom.
Aziegbemi’s ally in PDP, Senator Odion Ugbesia, who earlier represented Edo Central Senatorial District, also confirmed the release of the state’s party chairman.
