President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially concluded the investigation led by Jim Obazee into the operations of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Tinubu had appointed Obazee as a special investigator to probe the CBN and related entities, as per a letter dated July 28, 2023.
In his statement on Friday, Tinubu expressed appreciation to Obazee, a former Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC), for his service in this capacity.
The President commended Obazee’s dedication and expertise in managing the complexities of this crucial national task.
With the completion of the assignment and the submission of a final detailed report, along with the closure of all equipment used in the project by March 31, 2024, the investigation has officially concluded.
Further action is now being pursued by relevant law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
