Ex- minister Diezani’s ex-husband seeks court order to stop her from using his name

Admiral Alison Madueke has filed a petition in the Lagos State High Court to legally end his marriage to Diezani and stop her from using his last name.

Madueke argues that Diezani’s continued use of his name is damaging to his reputation and could lead to unintended consequences, given her ongoing corruption trials in Nigeria and the UK.

Despite their divorce being finalized in April 2022, Diezani has refused to revert to her maiden name, Agama, and continues to use Madueke’s surname, causing him embarrassment and potential legal harm.

Madueke is seeking a court order to compel Diezani to stop using his name and publicly announce their divorce in a national newspaper in both Nigeria and the UK.
