Coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders call for cancellation of planned protest

VANGUARD

The coalition of Yoruba Youth Leaders which is the apex and umbrella body for all Youth Associations and organizations in the entire Yoruba land has called for the cancellation of the planned National protest, noting that there should be a more defined manner of getting our leaders to hear our plights.

According to the president–general of the Coalition of Yoruba Youth leaders Dr. Hassan Tolani, “It’s a truism that the inflation rate is in the double-digit and unemployment rate in Nigeria is alarming. So many graduates are out there with no means of survival.

“The economy is unfriendly and the cost of living is outrageous, out of the reach of the common man.

“The leadership of Yoruba Youth Leaders do not want a repeat of the ENDSARS saga. There should be a more defined manner of getting our leaders to hear our plights other than protest. There are agitations and insecurity in every part of the country, any attempt to have a protest now may cause mayhem which is not the solution to our pressing challenges.

“It is important to reiterate that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is our beloved father and Leader, we want him to succeed because our prosperity lies in his success. The President should listen to us, his Children. We love you Sir, but we are hungry and unemployed.

“The President should interface with all the Youth Leaders in the various geo-political zones directly. All the intermediaries have failed. Since the inception of this administration, the President has been busy repositioning the country but neglected the youth constituent”.

Hence, there is a dire need to have a National Youth Summit where all the various youth leaders can discuss with Mr. President and address all the prevailing issues.

“It is pertinent to state that the Coalition of Yoruba Youth leaders under the leadership of Dr HASSAN Tolani is fully in support of the administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We urge the government to review both the monetary and economic policies in the interest of the Nigerian masses.

“There should be a concerted effort by both the public and organized private sector to engage in massive employment generation and reduce job losses.

“The government should curtail the exodus of investors out of Nigeria and focus more on increasing foreign direct investment to Nigeria. The economy should be friendly to both local and foreign investors.
