Nigerian Police: arresting all criminal elements at once is impossible

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has stated that it is not possible to arrest all criminal elements in the country simultaneously.

The NPF spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, expressed this view in a post on X.

Adejobi’s comments came in response to three photos shared by an X user, which showed suspected terrorists flaunting bundles of naira notes believed to be proceeds from kidnappings.

“They are now flaunting the ransom money, showing off their wealth,” the user captioned the post.

In reply, the Force PRO said, “It’s impossible to apprehend every criminal at once. At the very least, recognize the arrests we’ve made. We detain criminals daily, and in large numbers.

“The armed forces and police are doing their best. The efforts of security agencies should be acknowledged and appreciated. Addressing insecurity and other crimes in Nigeria requires collective effort and individual involvement.”
