Koye Kekere-Ekun, an actor and son of Nigeria’s acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), has come under criticism for supporting President Bola Tinubu’s political opponents.
On Friday, Tinubu appointed Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the acting CJN.
The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the State House in Abuja, had quite a handful of the newly-appointed CJN’s family members in attendance, one of whom was Koye.
As the event went on, Koye took to his official Instagram page, @officiallyk10, to post a picture of himself and his mother and added the caption: The actual best babe! Proud beyond words!
After the ceremony, Taofeek Gawat, an All Progressives Congress (APC) supporter, on X @tfk_gawat, made a post that suggested he was referring to Koye
“”Hes not my President” but Na him swear in your mama as CJN… Congratulations to your family though. Don’t forget to delete all your Anti Tinubu posts. Enjoy,” Gawat’s post reads.
This post attracted a handful of criticism from X users.
“Why should he delete anti Tinubu post? How is that a sin? She’s Nigeria’s CJN, not Tinubu’s CJN,” an X user with the handle @Dontee_ wrote.
Another X user with the handle @macabelee responded to Gawat’s post saying:
“”My family benefits from it so I’ll reinforce it with all my heart”. That’s exactly the reason for the decadence in the society but you think you’ve said something reasonable.”
