SERAP remains undeterred by Federal Government’s actions, says Deputy Director

The Socio-Economic Rights Accountability Project (SERAP) has threatened to file a public interest lawsuit at the Federal High Court to compel President Bola Tinubu to reverse the fuel pump price hike and investigate corruption allegations against the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

The project issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Tinubu, requesting the company to reverse the hike and direct the Attorney-General of the Federation to probe corruption and mismanagement.

The project argues that the Nigerian government is legally obligated to investigate and prosecute corruption and mismanagement allegations, aligning with the country’s constitution and international anti-corruption obligations. The project has called on President Tinubu to intervene and end harassment, intimidation, and attacks on Nigerians’ rights.
