FG urges Nigerians in Lebanon to evacuate amid Israeli strikes on Hezbollah

The Federal Government, through the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, has advised Nigerians residing in Lebanon to consider leaving the country due to escalating attacks by the Israeli government on Hezbollah and other areas within Lebanon.

The commission urged Nigerians to take advantage of the availability of commercial flights to relocate while it is still possible.

In a statement signed by the Director of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, NIDCOM acknowledged that, according to reports from the Nigerian community in Lebanon, many Nigerians had already moved out of the southern region, which had been most affected by the violence.

Those who have relocated are said to be relatively safe, but the commission stressed the importance of remaining cautious until a ceasefire is secured.

“It is gratifying to note that, so far, no Nigerian has suffered any injuries or accidents during the ongoing conflict,” the statement read.

“We urge all Nigerians to continue prioritizing their safety while the war persists.”
