Access Bank Plc has debunked a viral social media video with allegations of missing N500 million funds belonging to a customer of the bank, describing the claims as “untrue” and “baseless.”
The bank, however, reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the safety and security of its customers’ funds.
The allegations, brought to light by social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, claimed that the family of a deceased customer could not access N500 million allegedly held in the deceased’s Access Bank account. Otse alleged that the deceased had disclosed the account and its balance to his family before his passing.
In its official response, Access Bank stated, “The allegations of missing funds in the Bank are most untrue and baseless. There is no N500 million or any other fund or amount missing from the subject customer’s account or from any other customer’s account with us.”
