FRSC to buy N870m new duplexes for Deputy Corps Marshals in Abuja

Areview of the 2025 proposed budget has shown that a sum of N870 million is budgeted by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to buy duplexes for Deputy Corps Marshals in Abuja.

Per details published in the proposed budget, the apartments cost N435 million each and are five bedroom duplexes.
While the FRSC plans to spend N870million on two-unit duplexes for deputy marshals, it plans to spend N690 million to construct three units commands at Kisi, Ibeti and Jega with each costing N220 million each.

The FRSC said it also plans to rehabilitate its Benin and Bauchi offices at N200million each.

Another sum of N8million is budgeted for purchase of complete public address system at the FRSC ICT hall.

Provision of Solar energy for Yola, Kaduna and Oshogbo zonal FRSC offices is expected to gulp N94.5 million.

The development comes amid complaints on poor revenue in the country. 

For instance in 2025, the government plans to spend N15.3 trillion on debt servicing, it plans to spend N15.5 trillion in 2026 and another N19.4 trillion in 2027.

In total, the Nigerian government plans an expenditure of N50.2trillion on debt servicing between the period, a result of reliance on loans in the country. 

Although the government has continued to restate its commitment to prudence, concerns continue to mount on the actuality of this commitment.
