Former Nigerian military Head of State and democratically elected President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has said that late former United States President, Jimmy Carter, contributed to why he is still alive.

DAILY POST reports that Obasanjo was military Head of State in 1978 when Carter first visited Nigeria.

He ruled as military Head of State from February 1976 to October 1979 and was later elected President between May 1999 and May 2007.
