Terrorists, locally dubbed as bandits, have abducted at least 15 residents, including the headmaster of Gatakawa Primary School, Malam Ghali Junaidu, his wife, his younger brother Ibrahim, and Ibrahim’s wife.
According to a tweet by Bakatsine, a source in Northwest Nigeria on X on Friday, the attack occurred on Thursday night in the Gatakawa community, Ƙankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
During the incident, one person sustained injuries as the attackers unleashed violence in the area, causing panic and fear among residents.
The abduction comes only days after bandits raided Ƙankara General Hospital, highlighting the growing insecurity in the region.
Meanwhile, SaharaReporters had reported how a group of terrorists, locally known as bandits, on Tuesday night attacked a General Hospital in Kankara town, Kankara local government area of Katsina State.
It was reported that the terrorists shot a medical doctor on duty during the attack, Dr. Murtala Sale Dandashire and kidnapped no fewer than five people at the hospital.
This was stated by a source, Bakatsine, while sharing the picture of the attacked doctor on his popular X page.
Bakatsine wrote: “Yesterday night, bandits stormed Kankara General Hospital in Ƙankara LGA of Katsina State, they shot Dr. Murtala Sale Dandashire and abducted five people in the hospital.
“There is a need to improve security in the hospitals across Katsina State. Within the past three months, bandits have reportedly entered three hospitals: Kurfi General Hospital, Mai Tsani Hospital in Dutsin-ma LGA and Kankara General Hospital.
“Dr. Murtala Saleh Dandashire, an indigene Kankara LGA, is the best graduating Medical student of the year 2019, from the Medical School of the prestigious ABU Zaria,” he added.
SaharaReporters has not independently verified whether Dr. Murtala Saleh Dandashire survived the terrorists attack in which he was shot.
