Kevin De Bruyne has announced he will leave Manchester City when his contract expires at the end of the season, bringing an end to a decade-long spell filled with silverware.
The 33-year-old Belgian midfielder, who joined from Wolfsburg in 2015 for £55m, has won 16 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the 2023 Champions League.
“Every story comes to an end, but this has definitely been the best chapter,” De Bruyne wrote on social media.
He has struggled with injuries in recent seasons, missing five months of last year’s campaign. Linked with Saudi Arabia, he had paused contract talks while recovering from injury.
“Manchester will forever be in our hearts,” he added, bidding farewell to fans.
