A DAD has been shot dead by his own dog at point blank range during a hunting trip with pals.
Ozgur Gevrekoglu’s dog is said to have stepped on a loaded shotgun in the man’s boot – blasting his owner at close range and killing him instantly.
The 32-year-old new dad was on a hunting trip on the Kizlan Plateau in Samsun Province, Turkey, when the bizarre incident happened last weekend.
According to reports, the avid hunter was putting his pet dog in the boot of the car when the the pooch touched the shotgun trigger with its paw, causing it to discharge.
His body was first taken to Alacam State Hospital and then transferred to the state capital, Samsun, for an autopsy.
Local media reported that he had become a father just 10 days earlier.
