A man in Bihar got bitten by a snake. In revenge, the man bit back the snake, leading to the reptile’s death. The bizarre incident took place in Rajouli area in Nawada.
Santosh Lohar, a labourer working on the railway line project in Rajouli, was sleeping at his base camp on Tuesday night when a venomous snake bit him. Instead of panicking, an enraged Santosh grabbed the snake with an iron rod and bit it back, not once but three times, ultimately killing the snake.
When asked about his unusual response, Santosh explained, “In my village, there’s a belief that if a snake bites you, you must bite it back twice to neutralize the venom.”
This peculiar piece of local wisdom is what drove Santosh to take such drastic action.
As soon as the incident was reported, railway officials rushed Santosh to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The news of this unusual incident quickly spread, and a crowd gathered at the hospital to catch a glimpse of Santosh and hear his story. Many locals speculated that the snake might not have been venomous, or else Santosh’s life could have been in serious danger.
Santosh, who hails from Jharkhand, is now recovering and is out of danger, according to Dr. Satish Chandra, the physician treating him.
