The House of Representatives member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Mr James Faleke, has urged youths to embrace entrepreneurship, saying this is the solution to the unemployment situation in the country.
Faleke said this on Sunday at the grand finale of an empowerment programme facilitated by him, following the training of 1,167 constituent members by the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria.
He said, “Three years ago, it was easy to offer employment opportunities to unemployed Nigerians but it is no longer so now. There are several graduates with no job and the only way out is to be self-employed. People must look for a business they can operate; waiting to get employed by the government is difficult.
“The economy of Nigeria is deteriorating; we import most things we consume. If we don’t produce what we consume, there is no way the currency will be strong. When we start producing, it will positively affect our GDP.”
