Stop harassing Ndigbo, release Cubana, group tells FG

LAGOS – The South East Revival Group (SERG), a pan-Igbo sociopolitical pressure or­ganisation, has asked the Federal Government to stop harassing Igbo while demanding the immediate release of socialite and business tycoon, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana.

The group, which ques­tioned the rationale behind the arrest of Obi Cubana by the Economic and Finan­cial Crimes Commission (EFCC), alleged that the Igbo have been unfairly treated and targeted by the President Muhammadu Bu­hari administration.

Chief Willy Ezugwu, SERG President and Na­tional Coordinator, who cited the cases of Ifeanyi Ubah and Ayim Pius Ayim, posited that Obi Cubana was targeted because of the Anambra State governor­ship election on November 6, based on his popularity.
