The University of Ibadan has barred graduands without First Class Honours from the 2021 convocation ceremony.

This was announced in a circular released by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Olatunji Oladejo.

The ceremony is scheduled to hold between November 15 and 17.

Oladejo said the decision was part of the measures put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19.

However, the other graduands can attend the ceremony virtually.

“Attendance at the International Conference Centre is open to First Class Honours graduands and recipients of prizes and awards only. Parents and visitors are not allowed into the campus neither will there be any form of party or social gathering during the period.
