The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that 1, 786 women and youths in the state have been empowered in different agriculture value chains as part of his administration’s job creation effort.
Sanwo-Olu said this on Thursday while inaugurating the women and youth empowerment programme through the Lagos State Agro-Processing Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support project, in Alausa, Ikeja.
He said, “I want to congratulate the 1, 786 of you that have the priviledge to be the first set of beneficiaries of this important agricultural intervention and laudable project. As you are aware, the APPEALS project is a tripartite agreement between the Lagos State government, the Federal Government and the World Bank.
“We are strongly committed to enhancing the agricultural productivity of small and medium-scale farmers in Lagos State and improving the agricultural food value chain. “Agriculture will offer our people, especially our youths and women, the opportunity to make a difference in their lives, families, communities and nation.”…
