The Collation Officer for the presidential election in Rivers State, Prof Teddy Charles Adias, has adjourned collation indefinitely, over an alleged threat to his life and family.
Prof Adias, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa state, claimed that the death threats and calls he received are from members of the Labour Party (LP).
Despite appeals from stakeholders including assurances from the police for him to conclude the process, Adias adjourned the Election collation in Rivers indefinitely.
“Until INEC addresses my concerns, the collation stands adjourned. There is a misconception about my role in the process. They are posting on social media, calling and texting that I’m the man who is rigging Rivers state elections”, Adias said on Tuesday in Port Harcourt.
