CBN refutes report on devaluation of Naira to 630/

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has refuted reports that it has devalued naira in the official market.

The apex bank in a statement signed by its Ag. Director, Corporate Communications, Isa AbdulMumin, made the rebuttal in reaction to a report published in a national newspaper (not Vanguard) on Thursday.

The bank said the exchange rate at the Investors’ & Exporters’ (I&E) window traded this today (June 1, 2023) is stable at N465/US$1.

The statement partly reads, “The attention of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been drawn to a news report by Daily Trust Newspaper of June 1, 2023, titled “CBN Devalues Naira To 630/$1”.
