‘APC will not sleep until we recover our mandate’ – LP’s Chairman, Abure declares

The national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, has expressed optimism that the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, will be declared president of Nigeria by the tribunal.

Naija News reports that Abure made this known while addressing some Nigerians in the United States during a country tour.

Recall that the former governor of Anambra State, who came third in the presidential election held in February, and his party, are challenging the poll’s outcome.

They are asking the court to nullify the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over alleged irregularities that marred the election.

Speaking at the tour in the United Kingdom and the US, Abure said the presidential election petition tribunal (PEPT) judgment is expected to come on or before September 16.

According to him, Peter Obi’s participation in the 2023 election changed the political narratives, adding the All Progressives Congress (APC) stole their mandate, which he claimed must be recovered.

He said, “Following Peter Obi’s participation in the 2023 general election, we changed the political narratives in Nigeria. We gave them a run for their money,” he said.

“They have murdered sleep and they will sleep no more. They have stolen what is not for them and they will not sleep until we recover it all.”
