In a show of solidarity, pro-democracy activists marched from Unity Fountain to the National Assembly complex in Abuja, urging the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to suspend its planned protest and resume negotiations with the Federal Government.
The activists, arriving in luxury buses, voiced their support for the government’s efforts and displayed anti-NLC placards.
They emphasized patience with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and criticized the NLC’s planned protest, stating that it would not address the country’s economic challenges. Despite warnings from the Department of State Services, the NLC remains resolute in its plan to hold nationwide protests on February 27 and 28, citing unmet government commitments.
