Qatar has reversed its earlier decision and agreed to host the business and investment forum proposed by President Bola Tinubu during his scheduled visit to the Arab country on March 2, 2024.
The change of heart came after a leaked memo surfaced on Saturday, revealing Qatar’s initial refusal to host the investment forum due to the unavailability of Mohammed Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the country’s minister of commerce and industry.
Initially, the embassy of Qatar in Abuja stated that there was no formal agreement between Qatar and Nigeria regarding the proposed investment forum. However, Qatar has now decided to proceed with the business forum as per Nigeria’s proposal.
This development marks a positive turn in diplomatic relations between Qatar and Nigeria, setting the stage for potential collaborations and economic opportunities between the two nations.
