Pastor Moris Fadehan, who presided over the Celestial Church of Christ, Grace of Comfort Parish, Omitoto, in Osun State, was tragically murdered by an individual named Lekan within the premises of his own church.
Reports indicate that the dreadful incident unfolded after a confrontation between the pastor and Lekan over unspecified disagreements, stemming from an assault on a prophetess within the church premises a week earlier. The pastor had retrieved the church keys from Lekan following the altercation with the prophetess.
On Monday, during a prayer session at the church, Lekan launched a surprise attack on Pastor Fadehan, attempting to smother him with clothes. In the ensuing struggle, Lekan resorted to violence, striking the pastor with a screwdriver and inflicting fatal injuries to his face. To conceal his crime, Lekan then set fire to the pastor’s body near a generator.
Upon discovering the gruesome scene, the church founder, along with others, apprehended Lekan, who had attempted to mislead them by reporting a fire in the church. They restrained him until the arrival of law enforcement authorities.
The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the incident, indicating that investigations are underway. The body of Pastor Fadehan has been transferred to the OAUTHC morgue for further examination.
This tragic event has shocked the local community and raised concerns about safety within places of worship. Authorities are working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding the pastor’s untimely demise and ensure that justice is served.
