In a significant development, the Federal Government has decided to suspend the implementation of the recently introduced Expatriate Employment Levy. The decision was communicated through a statement signed by Dele Kelvin Oye, the National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, on Friday.
This decision follows a series of strategic engagements, including a successful Trade and Investment outreach led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Qatar. During this outreach, productive discussions were held with key stakeholders, including the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Doris Aniete, and the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The meeting, attended by prominent figures such as the President of the Petroleum Technology Association, the President of the Special Economic Zones Association, and other industry leaders, emphasized the importance of revisiting the implementation of the Expatriate Employment Levy.
