Karen, a British tourist, has disclosed that she was sexually assaulted in Ghana, during her ongoing road trip from London to Cape Town.
Traveling with her companions, James and Spence, Karen shared the disturbing incident on Instagram, where the trio has been documenting their experiences.
The trio, who embarked on a road trip from London to Cape Town on March 13, 2024, have been documenting their adventures on Instagram, gaining a large following of over 324,000 fans.
In a recent post, Karen recounted the incident which transpired while she was resting by a waterfall in Ghana.
She said in part, “I laid on the bench by the waterfall and had a little doze to the relaxing sound of the crashing waterfalls.
“I opened my eyes and to my surprise, I saw a man staring at me with his trousers down masturbating a metre away from me.
“I was in utter disbelief and I immediately told him to stop and I leaped off the bench. He continued his disgraceful act and I said I will report him to the police for sexual assault. ”
The friends, who have been on the road for months, have had a mix of exciting experiences and challenges, including car troubles, meeting local police officers, and enjoying dinner in the Sahara Desert.
The trio have had stops in France, Spain, Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Cote d Ivoire and now Ghana.
They have also had the privilege of meeting the British High Commissioner to The Gambia,Harriet King, and her family.
