The Nigerian government has allocated a total of N21 billion to the electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) for the procurement and installation of electricity meters, as part of the Presidential Metering Initiative (PMI) under the framework of Meter Acquisition Fund (MAF).
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) made this announcement through Order No: NERC/2024/072, apportioning the funds among DisCos based on contributions. The DisCos include Ikeja, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Port Harcourt, and Yola Electricity Distribution Companies, among others.
