Taskforce clears popular Oshodi market

Operatives of the Taskforce on Wednesday cleared the popular Oshodi road market harbouring illegal traders.

The operation took place at around 12pm where illegal shop holders blocking motorists and other road users free passage through the market.

One of the residents on the street who pleaded anonymous said: “ I am happy with what the task force did today because this people, the Abokis and the Igbo traders here just jam-packed this place and we that have vehicles can’t even pass, even those that are trekking cannot walk freely because they have filled everywhere.”Related News

Other residents called for implementation of rules to ensure illegal trading are not allowed in market places

“We appreciate the government for the efforts so far but we are calling on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to enact laws that will stop these people from having illegal trading on the road, there are shops already built for them, let them rent the shops and sell their goods there, not on the streets, they are hindering our movements.
