Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, on Tuesday, September 3, described the death of Hajiya Dada, mother of the former president, late Umaru Musa Yar’adua, as a sad development.
Hajiya Dada, who was also the mother of the late General Shehu Musa Yar’adua and Senator Abdulazeez Musa Yar’adua, among others, passed away on Monday at the age of 102.
In a condolence statement signed by his special adviser on media and publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker said the late Hajiya Dada would be sorely missed.
He recalled the motherly role the late Hajiya Dada played in the lives of many Nigerians, not just her biological children, noting that she lived a life worthy of emulation.
The speaker, who attended the funeral prayer of the late Hajiya Dada alongside Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, prayed to Allah to have mercy on her soul and reward her with Jannatul Firdaus.
