Nigerian singer and DJ Florence Otedola popularly known as DJ Cuppy has made history as the first British-Nigerian to host an opening session at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The daughter of one of Nigeria’s billionaires Femi Otedola and founder of the Cuppy Foundation, anchored the session themed “The Summit of the Future – Youth Action Day,” during the weekend marking a significant milestone in her career.

In a post shared on her Instagram handle, she said she has been a DJ at the UNGA twice but the coolest thing she has ever done is giving the opening session at the 79th UNGA.

“It is so wonderful to be here. It is actually my second time DJing at the United Nations so I must be doing something right…I would not be standing here if not for my education and I may not seem that cool right now may be due to a couple of youth delegates. But I’ve made some pretty lady moves in my career.

“I’ve interned for Jay Zee, I’ve been on the Forbes 30 under 30 twice, and filmed MTV cribs but the coolest thing I’ve done by far is speaking to all of you today.”

She also talked about her passion for education and how she has been able to achieve three degrees at the age of 30. She also hinted at the completion of her PhD thesis.
