Senate approves Kekere-Ekun as Chief Justice of Nigeria

Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun has been confirmed as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria by the Senate. The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, announced the confirmation during plenary, after she was cleared by voice votes.

Kekere-Ekun was screened for nearly two hours, addressing judicial reforms and ensuring adequate justice. She emphasized her firm against corruption in the judiciary and stated that all pre-election matters would terminate at the Court of Appeal. The Senate received a letter from President Bola Tinubu.
