Couple in Taraba nabbed for suspected involvement with terrorists

Three suspects, including a couple, have been arrested by Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Arm for allegedly collaborating with terrorists in Taraba State.

Naija News learnt that the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army spokesperson, Captain Oni Olubo, in a statement, said the suspects were arrested at Lande Jessy village in Lau Local Government Area of the state.

He stated that an operation carried out by the troops following an intelligence report led to the arrest of the three suspects.

Captain Oni revealed that during the investigation, Mohammed, who is married to Sulaiman, confessed that the latter’s residence was used for hiding weapons after operations by bandits.

He also urged the public to always provide credible information to security agencies to assist in getting rid of the terrorists.

He said, “The Nigerian Army remains committed to the protection of lives and property, as well as the preservation of the nation’s territorial integrity.

“We urge the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies as we work together to rid the country of terrorism and other forms of insecurity.”

Meanwhile, Troops from the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, in conjunction with Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) in Taraba State, have arrested three individuals suspected of banditry, along with a logistics supplier associated with terrorist activities both within and beyond the state.

Naija News understands that the suspects were arrested during a specialized operation initiated on October 7, 2024, in Andami, located in the Karim Lamido Local Government Area.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 6 Brigade, noted that the arrests were made possible through reliable intelligence.
