VANGUARD

The Federal Government on Friday brought charges against 43 individuals and others connected to the #EndBadGovernance protests, as well as some who are reportedly still at large, in a Federal High Court in Abuja.

In a case filed by DCP Simon Lough (SAN) from the Legal Prosecution Section of the Nigeria Police Force, one individual reportedly on the run is 70-year-old British citizen Andrew Martin Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich.

Recall that in September, the Nigerian Police declared Wayne wanted over attempt to ‘overthrow president Bola Tinubu’.

Earlier on Friday, the police arraigned a set of 76 #EndBadGovernance protesters, five of whom slumped in court.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu granted each defendant bail of N10 million, requiring them to provide two sureties in the same amount.

He stated that one of the sureties must be a civil servant at grade level 15 or above, with a verifiable address within the court’s jurisdiction, while the other surety must be a parent of the protester.

The prosecution withdrew charges against the five minors who collapsed, allowing them to recover before standing trial.
