The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has shut down some religious and business organisations in the state, including branches of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries and Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), over noise pollution and other environmental infractions.

The agency disclosed this in a statement shared via X on Tuesday.

LASEPA said it intensified its enforcement operations by sealing off several establishments across various locations in the state, including Shomolu, Oniru Victoria Island, Jakande-Lekki, Badore Ajah, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Sangotedo, and Lekki II, Ogombo, Lekki Phase 1, among others.

The agency said the action was taken in response to persistent noise pollution and other environmental infractions that posed significant risks to public health and safety.

Among the establishments sealed by LASEPA are Celestial Church, Zodiac Lounge, Pixel Park Studio, The Lord’s Chosen Church, Sneakers Suites & Bar, and Wimpy Hotel.

The General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Tunde Ajayi, emphasised the agency’s commitment to maintaining a healthy environment for all residents of Lagos State.

“Noise pollution and other environmental violations disrupt the peace and health of our communities.

“Today’s action demonstrates our zero-tolerance policy towards defaulters and our resolve to enforce environmental laws strictly,” he said.

Ajayi urged all establishments to comply with environmental regulations to avoid sanctions, reiterating LASEPA’s dedication to fostering a safer and more sustainable Lagos.
