SAHARA REPORTERS
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has revealed that notorious terrorist kingpin Bello Turji has expressed his willingness to surrender to the authorities.
General Musa made this disclosure during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.
According to the CDS, the military’s sustained operations against Turji’s network have weakened his hold.
He explained that the recent elimination of Turji’s second-in-command and several of his lieutenants has left the terrorist leader with fewer options, compelling him to reconsider his position.
“He is now forced to release most of the people under him,” General Musa said. “Recently, he has begun to say he doesn’t want anything; he is ready to surrender.”
However, the Defence Chief noted that surrender does not absolve individuals like Turji of accountability for their crimes.
He maintained a firm stance that anyone involved in the killing of innocent citizens must face justice.
“We want to take everybody out. Anybody who has killed should go. People like him should not be allowed to stay,” Musa said, citing the military’s commitment to ensuring justice and restoring peace in affected regions.
Bello Turji is one of the most wanted terror leaders in Nigeria, infamous for orchestrating attacks, kidnappings, and killings across the northwest.
